A nine-member committee has been appointed to develop a plan to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Cape Elizabeth in 2015. All terms expire Dec. 31, 2015. [committee charge]
The final event of the 250th Anniversary Celebration will be "A Toast to Cape" on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Inn by the Sea. This cocktail reception will honor the many volunteers, contributors, and donors to the 250th events these past six months as well as celebrate our actual date of incorporation 250 years ago in 1765. The ticketed reception is also open to the public on a capacity-limited basis. If you are interested in reserving tickets (suggested donation of $20), please call Barbara Powers, 207-799-7875. DVDs of "Time's Flowing Tide," the documentary film of Cape Elizabeth's founding made by award winning filmmakers Peter and Thomas Campbell, are now available for purchase. Orders can be placed with the Campbell brothers at 8mufnz@gmail.com. You will be notified when the DVDs will be available for pick up at the Local Buzz.
