School Board seeks citizens to serve on superintendent search Credentials Review Committee

The School Board is now accepting applications for the ad hoc "Credentials Review Committee" to assist in selection of the next superintendent.

At its Jan. 11 business meeting, board voted unanimously to establish the committee in order to ensure public participation in the search for a school superintendent.

The committee's charge is to assist the School Board in evaluating the credentials of applicants for the school superintendent position. The committee will act solely as an advisory committee with no authority to hire, interview or contact any applicants for the school superintendent position.

Confidentiality is critical in the search for a superintendent; therefore, all members of the committee must sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement prior to viewing any materials from applicants.

The 11-member committee will include four citizens, two School Board members, one Town Councilor, two Cape Elizabeth school administrators, and two Cape Elizabeth school teachers. Once members are selected, the committee will meet with the School Board’s search consultant in mid February to discuss confidentiality and the evaluation process. They will meet again in early March to evaluate applicants' materials.

If you are interested in applying, please submit our online form.

Applications may also be obtained by contacting Michael Moore at searchcrc@gmail.com or by calling him at (207) 233-7164. Applications must be submitted by Monday, Jan. 31, 2011.
