At the December 17, 2024, meeting, the Planning Board approved the Town of Cape Elizabeth’s request for a Site Plan Amendment to install a new salt storage shed adjacent to the Public Works garage at 10 Cooper Drive. Public Works Director Jay Reynolds reviewed the plan, which was first discussed at a Planning Board workshop in November. The existing salt shed, located near the entrance of Denison Drive, "is in serious disrepair and poses a safety issue for staff,” Reynolds said. Once the new salt shed is in place, the old shed will be locked and closed. The shed will eventually be demolished.
