Town Secures $50K Community Action Grant for Energy Efficiency Improvements

Several months ago, Cape Elizabeth was awarded $50,000 through the Community Action Grant program to support energy efficiency upgrades. This funding, aligned with the goals of Maine Won’t Wait, focuses on reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Our application specifically targeted a retrofit of LED lights for two of our busiest municipal buildings: Town Hall and the Police Department. The benefits of this upgrade include:

  • Energy Efficiency: Lower electricity usage and reduced environmental impact.
  • Cost Savings: Long-term reductions in utility and maintenance expenses.
  • Enhanced Lighting: Improved brightness and reliability in these essential spaces.

We’re excited to share that the new LED lights have started arriving, and we are preparing for installation as soon as the remaining fixtures are delivered. This project represents a meaningful step toward our sustainability goals, and we look forward to seeing the results in action!
