Nomination papers for the Nov. 4, 2024, municipal election are available from the Town Clerk beginning Wednesday, July 31, 2024.  Papers must be returned and verified by 5:00 p.m. on Monday,  September 9.  

  • The terms of Town Councilors Timothy Reiniger, Jeremy Gabrielson, and Susan Gillis expire this December.
  • The terms of School Board Members Heather Altenburg, Kathleen Curry-Sparks, and Elizabeth Scifres expire this December.

In addition, a five-year term on the Portland Water District Board of Trustees representing Cape Elizabeth and South Portland is up for election on November 5. Cape Elizabeth residents seeking nomination must obtain and file petitions in both communities. (See the Trustee Election Brochure). In Cape Elizabeth, 35-50 signatures are required from Cape Elizabeth voters, and the deadline for returning petitions to the Cape Elizabeth Town Clerk is 5:00 p.m. September 9.   • Joseph Siviski's term on the Portland Water District Board of Trustees expires in December 2025.
