Library initiates conversations project with Maine communities

Throughout Winter 2024, Thomas Memorial Library will be partnering with Prince Memorial Library (Cumberland, ME), Scarborough Public Library (Scarborough, ME), Curtis Memorial Library (Brunswick, ME), and Windham Public Library (Windham, ME) for a new and unique conversation series titled Big Conversations In 10 Short Minutes.  At virtual gatherings throughout the winter, patrons will have the chance to meet people from other communities across the state for conversations that are as engaging as they are brief.

Each hour-long event will randomly pair participants with partners for 10-minute conversations focused on specific prompts.  Attendees will have three separate conversations with three other strangers from across Maine.  Prompts are simple and intriguing.  Conversations are non-political.  Given just a bit of space to connect, what might we learn about our fellow humans?

The first Big Coversations in 10 Short Minutes  will take place virtually on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  This program will take place entirely on Zoom.  To register, CLICK HERE.
