Town considering new citizen Renewable Energy Committee

The town is considering establishing a new citizen Renewable Energy Committee.

A standing committee to support the town's commitment to a sustainable future was a recommendation of the Alternative Energy Committee 2016. The committee submitted its final report to the Town Council in February with specific recommendations for municipal solar energy, as well as an ongoing committee to make further recommendations.

Action on the committee's report is one of the council's goals for 2017.

Following workshops on May 1 and Oct. 2, the council referred the proposal to the ordinance subcommittee at their meeting Oct. 11. Councilors discussed the proposal at workshops on May 1 and Oct. 2.

The Ordinance Committee will consider the proposal for possible amendment to the Boards and Committees ordinance on Oct. 19, 2 p.m. at Town Hall.
