EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS:  THURSDAY, APRIL 3 / 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Thomas Memorial Library will hold an Emergency Preparedness event on Thursday, April 3, 2025 starting at 6:30 PM at the library.  Help relieve anxiety and keep yourself and your family safe by learning about practical steps you can take to be prepared in the event of an emergency. Charlie Kennedy, Cape Elizabeth Emergency Preparedness Director, and Brittany O'Neil, Response Coordinator for the Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency, will share their expertise, provide tips and resources, and answer any questions you may have. 


FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK:  FRIDAY, APRIL 4 / 5 PM

On the first Friday evening of every month, the city’s artists, galleries, and arts venues open up their doors for Portland’s thriving First Friday Art Walk. Creative Portland has also launched an accompanying live music program in the heart of the city. The Summer Stage Series takes place in Monument Square during the First Friday Art Walks in July, August, September, and October in partnership with local arts organizations such as SPACE, MAMM, GPIWC, and The Apohadion Theater.  FMI: CLICK HERE


"FREE FOR ALL: PUBLIC LIBRARY" A DOCUMENTARY EVENT & PRESENTATION BY CEHPS:  TUESDAY, APRIL 8/ 6:30 PM

Cape Elizabeth Historical Preservation Society is thrilled to partner with Thomas Memorial Library for the screening of a new documentary all about public libraries. Join us for the 60-minute screening of "Free For All: The Public Library" followed by a Q&A with TML director Rachel Davis, who will share some details of our very own library’s history.


ART IN BLOOM AT PMA:  APRIL 9-13

Art in Bloom has become a can't-miss event for Portland Museum of Art visitors, and art and floral enthusiasts throughout the region.  Featuring floral work by designers, artists, farmers, and florists from across southern Maine, the museum comes alive with the fragrant blooms, extravagant displays, and incredible floral installations of all types -- each inspired by an artwork from the museum's collection.  FMI: CLICK HERE

UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY BAND PRESENTS "THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA":  THURSDAY, APRIL 10 / 7 PM

TD BEACH TO BEACON 10K ROAD RACE REGISTRATION:   APRIL 15 CAPE RESIDENTS / APRIL 16 GENERAL PUBLIC

EARTH DAY RESOURCE FAIR AT MILL CREEK PARK:  SATURDAY, APRIL 26 / 10 AM - 2 PM

South Portland's Parks and Recreation Department and Sustainability Department, Dirgo Science Connection, and the South Portland Land Trust will host an Earth Day Resource Fair at Mill Creek Park on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM.  The event will include over 40 businesses, organizations and groups who will provide a variety of educational resources on sustainability and climate change.  Entertainment, food trucks, and raffle for those to travel to the event sustainably!


EARTH DAY CLEANUP 2025 PICK UP:  MONDAY, APRIL 28

Earth Day Cleanup 2025 will run April 19 - April 27.  On Monday, April 28, residents may leave their trash collections at 11 available spots identified on the map available here.  MAP


SOUTH PORTLAND SPRINGFEST COMMUNITY CELEBRATION:  MAY 16 & 17

The City of South Portland and the South Portland Cape Elizabeth Rotary present the annual SpringFest!!  Music, road race, cornhole championship, food trucks and more! FMI: CLICK HERE


CAPE CHALLENGE 5K:  SUNDAY, MAY 18 / 9:30 AM

Registration is now open for the 2025 Cape Challenge event on Sunday, May 18th! There is a Kids Fun Run at 8:30 am, a 1 Mile race at 9 am, and a 5k at 9:30 am. The Cape Challenge is a fundraiser for all three school parent associations.
