Elizabeth Scifres has lived in Cape Elizabeth with her family since 2004.She is serving her third term on the Cape Elizabeth School Board. Elizabeth has served in many leadership roles including chair of the board, vice chair, policy committee chair, and is currently finance chair. One of her main goals during her tenure on School Board has been to improve and enrich communication among the board, with staff, students, parents, and the community. It has been her great pleasure to participate on the newly formed leadership subcommittee, a cooperative group made up of the Town Manager, Superintendent of Schools, Town Council Chair and Finance Chair, School Board Chair and Finance Chair, Town Finance Director, and School Department Business Manager.
Elizabeth cares deeply about high quality education, having worked as a tutor, teacher, and coach. She continues to seek out opportunities to learn about all aspects of public education, in particular the role of the board in relationship with high performing, high achieving schools that meet the needs of all students.

Phil Saucier grew up in northern Maine and has lived in the greater Portland area for more than eighteen years, having moved to Cape Elizabeth in 2017. He and his wife Kate have two children - Louis is a first grader at Pond Cove and Ava will be in kindergarten next fall. Phil works as a municipal and land use lawyer. He strongly believes in public service and is honored to serve on the School Board. Phil is serving his second term on the School Board.
Heather Altenburg

Heather has lived in Cape Elizabeth since January, 2006, is married to a graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School, was in education as a middle school and high school teacher for 8 years before having children and was voted onto the board in November, 2015. She is the mother of three students, all attending the Cape Elizabeth Schools, as well as being a yoga teacher. Heather believes in giving back and serving the community where she lives. Believing strongly in education and a desire to constantly grow, she felt that being on the school board would be a perfect fit. Heather is a sound listener, willing to hear various viewpoints and information before standing strong in her opinion.

I moved to Cape Elizabeth with my family in 2009 and since that time I have been active volunteer in all three schools supporting academics, the arts, and athletics. My daughter graduated from CEHS in 202 and my son is a member of the class of '25. Professionally I have spent the last 15 years working as a nurse midwife, prior to that I worked in education as both a classroom teacher and education researcher/program evaluator. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the School Board and support in this exciting period of growth and change in our district.
Jennifer L. McVeigh

Jennifer has lived in Cape Elizabeth with her husband and two children since 2013. She is a school psychologist with 10+ years experience at the K-12 level. She is committed to excellence in public education ensuring students are given the education, support and services necessary to be successful post-secondary. She strongly believes in mental health supports and social emotional learning for all students. Jennifer is excited to serve her first term on the Cape Elizabeth School Board and learn from fellow senior members.
Caitlin S. Sweet

Caitlin Sweet grew up in Maryland near Washington, D.C. and has lived in the greater Portland area for five years, having moved to Cape Elizabeth in 2019. She and her husband Brandon have three children -- Sullivan is in kindergarten, Juliette is a first grader at Pond Cove Elementary School, and three year old Wendy is at preschool at the Cape Community Center. Caitlin works as a communication strategist. She strongly believes in being an active part of her community and in public service and is honored to serve on the School Board. Caitlin is serving her first term as a School Board member.

Cindy Voltz has been a Cape Elizabeth resident and an active volunteer in our schools and community since 2011. She is the parent of a 2019 Cape Elizabeth High School graduate and a CEHS Freshman. Cindy’s professional background includes over 20 years of experience working in technology. She currently works as a Technology Risk Manager in the banking industry. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve our community as a member of the board.
