03/21/2022 - Town Council Finance Committee begins review of Proposed FY2023 Municipal Budget [Article].
03/14/2022 - Town Manager Matthew Sturgis delivered a draft Proposed FY2023 Municipal Budget for all ongoing municipal departments and community services in the amount of $18,416,128 for Fiscal Year 2023. This is offset by revenues from all sources in the amount of $11,498,344. The amount to be collected from property taxes is proposed to be $6,917,784, which is 0.83% more than last year. As proposed, the budget will provide a net to taxes increase of -0.23%. This year's budget continues the work began last year to recover from the effects of the pandemic, with improving revenues, while also maintaining a conservative approach to municipal spending. The Town Council, acting as the Finance Committee, will begin their review of the proposed budget on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers.
03/01/2022 - The State of Maine Department of Education ED 279 Report currently shows Cape Elizabeth's allocation to be $2,019,106. This is a 14% increase and $279,002 more than last year during the same time period.
