Household Hazardous Waste

refers to wastes generated at home that are hazardous in nature, meaning they contain one of the following characteristics:
- caustic/corrosive
- flammable/ignitable
- toxic/poisonous
- explosive
- reactive
These products can be recognized by signal words on the label, such as DANGER, CAUTION or FLAMMABLE.

HHW collections are scheduled at the Recycling Center at least annually. The next scheduled collection is May 13, 2017

However, some items collected year-round at the Recycling Center include Alkaline Batteries, Propane Cylinders, Car Batteries, Latex Paint, Tires & Motor/Hydraulic Oil.
