Cape High one-act 'There Will Come Soft Rains' returns March 19 & 20
Cape Elizabeth High School Theatre will repeat "There Will Come Soft Rains," the school's entry into the Maine Drama Festival, at 7 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, March 19 and 20, 2017 in the auditorium. (dates have been changed to accommodate senior trip to Washington D.C.)
The show is freely adapted from the Ray Bradbury story, written in 1950, by directors Richard Mullen and Alana Cooper. "It is timely for our own age with the growing new science of artificial intelligence and the continuing threat of nuclear annihilation," said Mullen. "Serious stuff, beautifully executed through innovative staging! ... It continues in our tradition of innovative and daring productions."
Admission is $5.
Cape's Andrew Harrington, in the role of Ray Bradbury, was named to the all-festival cast at the drama festival's regional competition at Oceanside High School March 12.
