Bradbury's 'There Will Come Soft Rains' on Cape High stage March 7 & 8
"There Will Come Soft Rains," Cape Elizabeth High School's entry into the Maine Drama Festival, will premiere in Cape Elizabeth at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 7 and 8, 2017 in the auditorium.
The show is freely adapted from the Ray Bradbury story, written in 1950, by directors Richard Mullen and Alana Cooper. "It is timely for our own age with the growing new science of artificial intelligence and the continuing threat of nuclear annihilation," said Mullen. "Serious stuff, beautifully executed through innovative staging! ... It continues in our tradition of innovative and daring productions."
Additional performances are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, March 20 and 21, also at 7 p.m.
Admission is $5.
The regional drama festival will be held March 10-11. Cape Elizabeth will compete at Oceanside High School in Rockland.
