About the Cape Elizabeth Police Department

The Cape Elizabeth Police Department consists of 15-members. The department is comprised of the Chief of Police, one Captain, three Sergeants, one Detective, one Community Liaison Officer, six Patrol Officers, one front counter clerk, and one shared Animal Control Officer. Department strength is supplemented by four Reserve Police Officers and four reserve weekend clerks.  The reserve clerks rotate filling the weekend front counter duties. At any one time there is a minimum of two officers who patrol and respond to calls for service.  The front counter is staffed by a clerk seven days a week between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.  After 4 pm there are direct wired telephones to our regional dispatch in Portland located in the front vestibule.
